Ken Velasquez grew up in New York, and is a former resident of Brooklyn of 20 years. He is a designer & photographer who captures images on a daily basis, and is guided by unconscious thought to the places in which he finds visual inspiration every day. He discovers, and uncovers, the beauty in the ordinary and mundane.
Velasquez’ love of photography developed at an early age. Introduced to black and white photography, he found the joy in printing images in a darkroom. Today he continues that analogue tradition alongside of digital capture.
Velasquez studied at Parsons School of Design and graduated with a BFA in Communication Design. His background in design is evident in the graphic richness of his imagery.
